Pinner is located to the Northwest of London, just inside the M25 Motorway. It is approximately 15 miles from the centre of London, within easy access by road and London Underground Railway. The Metropolitan Line stops at Pinner and has played a major part in the development and growth of the area. Its centre retains a small village like atmosphere although it's joined to the surrounding parts of London. The village boasts a pub which dates from 1636 and a parish church that dates from 1321. A Chalk Mine dating back to the late 1700's. There is also an annual fair held through the streets of the village centre, which was founded by royal charter from King Edward III in May 1336..
Hi, my name is Peter Bartlett, I have been a local resident of Pinner and Northwood for over 50 years since childhood. My interests and pastimes are local history of Pinner, Meteorology, Coarse Fishing and Photography. For the past 5 years I have also been receiving Weather Satellite images directly from space using a home made weather satellite receiver linked to a PC to decode the signals. I have been gathering and collecting weather data commencing from around 1995. More recently I have also been using the excellent software “Digital Atmosphere”, for analysing weather data & generating weather charts. The weather station is a wireless Davis Vantage Pro2 automatic weather station (AWS) with additional UV & Solar sensors. The Davis Vantage Pro transmits data back to the base station using the latest wireless frequency spectrum hopping technology, thus enabling it to be processed and viewed on a PC, with data updated at regular intervals. The photographic images shown within this website were taken using an Olympus digital camera (Camedia Z750) and processed/edited using Paint Shop Pro8 software.
